Leaders need a system that supports leadership. Senior leaders are accountable for providing direction (mission, vision, values, and objectives) and guidance (policies, plans, processes, procedures, and measures), and they must provide the assets required to carry out guidance. Subordinate leaders and team members are accountable for executing current guidance with current assets and notifying senior leaders when there are deficiencies in guidance or assets.
